CAETLYNN J. BOOTH

My paintings provide an interpretation of a very specific focus on night environments and the frame of mind that this optical experience makes possible. These paintings harness the physical and metaphysical qualities of paint to offer a way into darkness without being in darkness, and to locate points of connection to access the spiritual within the networks of the urban landscape.

I am currently working on a project titled "Adam Elsheimer and the Spiritual Power of Painting" as a Fulbright scholar in Berlin.  I am researching the work of the German artist Adam Elsheimer (1578-1610), and creating a series of paintings inspired by his work.
